## How to connect Upstox

Connection method: OAuth on Upstox's website. Follow the steps below to add the account.

1.  Choose Upstox in Wealthfolio Connect and open SnapTrade's secure connection window.
    
2.  Follow the redirect to Upstox's website and sign in there.
    
3.  Review the eligible accounts and read-only access requested for portfolio synchronization.
    
4.  Approve the connection, return to Wealthfolio, and review your holdings.

## Your account stays under your control

### Read-only access

The connection can retrieve account data. It cannot place trades or move money.

### Your sign-in

With OAuth, you enter your Upstox username and password only on Upstox's website. Wealthfolio and SnapTrade never receive them, and you can revoke the authorization without changing your password.

### Your Wealthfolio data

Supported account data is passed to Wealthfolio on your device. Wealthfolio does not persistently store your holdings, balances, or activities on its servers.

## Good to know about this connection

-   Upstox connections sync holdings and balances, but not past transactions. Use Holding Snapshots to track positions and cash over time. If you want a full transaction history, you can also import or enter past activity.

If activity history is limited, you can still use Wealthfolio's [Holding Snapshots mode](https://wealthfolio.app/docs/concepts/tracking-modes/) to follow positions, cash, allocation, and net worth. Complete Transactions supports deeper activity-based analysis when sufficient history is available.

## Frequently asked questions

### Will my Upstox transaction history appear in Wealthfolio?

No. This connection provides supported ETF and stock holdings with the total account value, but not past transactions.

### Does Wealthfolio get my Upstox password?

No. You sign in on Upstox's website and approve read-only access. You can disconnect later to stop future updates.
